Background:

My name is Lisa Christensen and I would love to coach you and provide you with the tools you need to reach your physical goals.

I have spent the last 21 years in the fitness industry. As co-owner of Kia Ora Fitness, I am passionately committed to providing a comfortable place for the Tri-City community to optimize their health. In this time I have spent many hours in education to learn about the body and the mind. I am trained through the American Council on Exercise, Aquatic Exercise Association, Arthritis Foundation, Yogafit Level 3, Les Mills Group Fitness 9 Programs, and as a National Academy of Sports Medicine Personal Trainer. I worked for 10 years as an assessor for Les Mills international coaching new instructors how to take their skills to the next level in BODYPUMP, BODYBALANCE, and RPM.

With my husband of 38 years, we raised 4 children who are wonderful adults with families of their own. We currently have 6 grandchildren living in 2 countries. I love to travel and be outside as well as exercise and live clean. Healthy eating is part of my every day--diets are not. I lift weights because I love the way a strong body feels. Strength provides better bone density and confidence when standing on one foot as well as the extra benefits of better hormone balance. When the weather is nice I enjoy riding my old clunky bike around the rivers in the Tri-Cities. The best loop is bridge to bridge (24 miles) on a sunny Tri-City Saturday. I also appreciate a challenging hill climb and so do my legs, hips, heart, and lungs.

I love teaching Group Fitness Classes! In fact, this is a great way to sample my style and knowledge of coaching and training. Group Fitness adds a fun, social experience that feels less like exercise and more like hanging out with your friends and getting awesome fitness results. You can find me on the Class Schedule teaching in the water, BODYBALANCE, and BODYPUMP. I would love to see your face and introduce you to your new friends in our classes.

Kia Ora Fitness is a full-service training facility with state-of-the-art equipment, wonderful fitness instructors, and trainers to guide you in whatever your current goals may be. We know that there is an abundance of "free" training advice on the internet. Keep in mind that many of these advisors are simply social media influencers with good genes and without the education required to prescribe training for your needs. We believe in the science of the body and continually stay on a path of learning to keep up with current findings that speak to a variety of needs.

I would love to coach you in the ways that fit your needs the best. Send me a note when you are ready to get started!
