Fitness Philosophy

The health benefits and emotional stability that come from physical fitness can not be found anywhere else. Everyone can find some physical exercise that they enjoy and can improve upon, to let themselves be the healthiest they can be.

Background:

I began running 10K road races with my dad at the age of 11. At Kamiakin High School I ran cross country and track. My senior year I was a state finalist in the 300m hurdles and a state champion in the 4 X400 m relay. I then went on to compete for Brigham Young University where I ran relays, the 800m, 100m hurdles, and was an all-conference 400m hurdler.

I graduated with a BS degree in Business Management and a minor in coaching. I coached track at Kamiakin for five years and after taking a couple of years off to care for my young children I returned to coaching at Southridge High School where I currently am the hurdle coach. I have also been involved in coaching my children in their various sport teams, as well as organizing a junior jogger program at their elementary school.

Because I feel great satisfaction from helping others to achieve their athletic and fitness goals, I became a Certified Personal Trainer to expand my own knowledge and the breadth of those I can help. I love sports and athletics and continue to lift weights and compete once a year in the Hood to Coast Relay Race.
