Fitness Philosophy

A wise man once said “It is not the nature of the thing that changes, it is just our ability to do so” Never give up anything worth having comes with a challenge, embrace it!

Lisa grew up in Arizona and attended Brigham Young University majoring in business. She met and married Karl and gave up schooling in her junior year to start a family. Four children, Todd, Rachael, Scott, and Kelsey kept her busy. During their growing years, Lisa re-entered college but this time in the nursing program in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Life changed again when Karl decided he’d had enough of corporate engineering and wanted to pursue his dream of owning his own business. Together they built from the ground up World Gym Kennewick, and education began again, certifying in many venues in preparation for helping others to better fitness. In July of 2007 Karl and Lisa left the World Gym trademark and adopted Kia Ora Fitness as there name and lifestyle. Kia Ora means “be healthy,” a mantra for them and their family.

Lisa has taught and taken group fitness at different levels since she was 18 yrs old. She was a dancer in high school as well as a gymnast. She has seen the fitness industry change and grow as science has discovered more and more about ways to successfully train the body. Her goal now is to encourage others and give them the tools they need to be successful on their own.
